What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves inserting fine sterile needles into specific anatomical points to help stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain-relieving neurohormones.

How does Acupuncture work?

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that the insertion of acupuncture needles along pathways or meridians in your body helps to rebalance the flow of energy known as chi in your body. By stimulating proper blood flow and triggering the body’s natural pain-relieving mechanisms, Western practitioners use acupuncture to target points in the body where nerves, muscles, and connective tissues to help aid in healing.

What to expect at your Acupuncture treatment...

We will complete a subjective and objective exam to design a treatment plan to address the cause of your pain. With our treatment plan in place we will be able to create a proper plan for your body and your physical condition. Many people feel little to minimal discomfort as the needles are gently inserted. The needles are usually in place for between 15-30 minutes. We do our very best to ensure open communication and understanding between therapist and patient by creating a relaxing, healing experience.

Who can benefit from Acupuncture?

Acupuncture can help people suffering from various issues, including chronic pain, work injuries, and sports injuries. Many times, Acupuncture is recommended as a complementary treatment method in addition to other pain management techniques we offer.
